Wei Shi nominated to the College of Emerging Researchers and Creators in the Arts and Sciences

Wei Shi has been elected to the College of Emerging Researchers and Creators in Arts and Science, a division of the Royal Society of Canada.

A recognized expert in integrated photonics, Professor Shi is renowned for his groundbreaking work on ultra-wideband integrated photonic circuits and on-chip sensing technologies. His research has garnered significant media attention, notably with a discovery selected as one of the “Top 10 Discoveries of 2025” by Québec Science, following a publication in *Nature Photonics*.

As an entrepreneur and innovator, he has also been instrumental in founding high-tech companies. His contributions are shaping the photonics landscape in Canada and helping to set new standards for innovation in the sector.
